Apply to LAE
How to apply? A step-by-step guide
Do you want to join the Sunday Times Sixth Form College of the Year? If so, here is a step-by-step guide that will take you from application to enrolment.
1. Attend an Open Day
This is your opportunity to visit LAE, tour our facilities, meet our student and staff and hear from the Head Master, John Weeks, about his vision for LAE and why it could be the right sixth form choice for you.
All of our Open Day have now passed. We would strongly recommend that you sign-up to our mailing list to receive invitations to upcoming events at LAE:
2. Submit your online application
by Friday 27 January 2017
Applications close in January each year. All applications must be supported by a reference from a Head of Year or Form Tutor - this will be requested automatically upon completion of your online application. Please visit our APPLY NOW page to complete your online application.
3. Attend an Interview Day
Once applications have closed, we will invite selected applicants to attend an Interview Day. Due to the volume of applications we receive (approx. 10 applicants per place), it is important we are able to ensure LAE would be the best fit for those who have applied, as well as to offer advice on subject choices and future aspirations.
4. Accept your conditional offer
Having submitted an application and attended an interview, successful applicants will receive a conditional offer to study at LAE in September. You must accept this offer in principle and confirm the details of your offer - including A level subjects - are correct.
5. Come to our Welcome Day
At the end of our summer term we will invite all offer-holders to attend one of our Welcome Days: an individually timetabled day of A level taster classes, and an excellent opportunity to meet students who are studying the subjects you are interested in and our expert teaching staff. You will also receive information about enrolment and induction and life at LAE.
6. Enrol at LAE
GCSE Results Day, August
LAE is open from 9 a.m. on GCSE Results Day for you to come in and enrol. Every offer-holder will have an interview with a member of staff about their results and subject choices. This is a good time for you to reflect on your previous aspirations and whether they fit best your GCSE profile. Once you have enrolled, you will be invited to attend an induction session the following week.
